About Uganda’s Startup Act

The Start-Up Act Uganda project is an initiative of Uganda’s entrepreneurship ecosystem actors in partnership with The Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU), Uganda’s apex body for the private sector and Mastercard Foundation.

We will lead entrepreneur-focused public-private dialogue to co-create a Startup-focused policy to make Startups a key driver of economic growth in Uganda.

This is a joint initiative of Uganda’s entrepreneurship ecosystem actors in partnership with The Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU), Uganda’s apex body for the private sector and Mastercard Foundation.

The Intervention’s ultimate goal is to drive innovation, accelerate growth for Startups and generally improve the Startup ecosystem.

Yes, Tunisia and Senegal have championed the formulation of Startup Acts in Africa and other countries like South Africa and Kenya are working on their bills.

We shall work together with all relevant stakeholders in the Startup ecosystem to co-create formulation of the Startup policy. To participate in the process, click [here].

The entrepreneur’s perspective is the cornerstone of this initiative. The engagement process shall involve the identification of all existing laws and policies. As a result, some laws or policies may require reform to conform with the Startup policy.
